After visiting nearly EVERYTHING in Miami this past week/weekend, here is The Pit's rundown of things that might not have made it onto other Miami press lists:
winner: GOOD LORD, HOW'D THEY GET THOSE PAST SECURITY?
booth: Galerie Barbara Thumm (Berlin) [artist: Jota Castro]
winner: TIDIEST BACK ROOM
Josee' Bienvenue Gallery's backroom. Uber organized.
winner: TINIEST MASTERPIECES
Installation shots from Perugi ArteContemporanea's booth.
winner: MOST INTERESTING BOOTH FURNITURE
Galerie Laurent Godin (Paris) booth.
winner: BEST WALKWAYS BETWEEN BOOTHS
The NADA Fair's chandelier-lit hallways.
winner: MOST POPULAR VISITOR TYPE @ BASEL ON THURSDAY
STUDENTS! (it was school group day)
Overthow's installation 'Banal Street' featuring Ross Ford's artwork [Aqua Art Fair]
Jennifer Rubell's temporary installation "Old Fashioned" @ The Rubell Collection (featuring Dunkin Donuts)
winner: HARDEST FAIR TO ATTEND
Yep, that's it...waaaay in the distance. The It Ain't Fair. I'm thinking that if you missed the opening night party, then you missed getting in to see the show. I tried to check it out on Friday at around 12:20...waiting until 1pm...nothin'. nobody. nada. This fair wins for HARDEST FAIR TO ATTEND because it was 1) quite a walk from the other sites in the Design District, and 2) not open during daylight hours.
winner: WORST CLEAN-UP ATTEMPT
However, I do know that I was at the right location for the It Ain't Fair because this was the scene in the parking lot next to the building.
winner: MOST CRAMPED SPACE I'VE EVER BEEN IN
A view inside Jasper Niens' "5 Rooms" installation presented by West, The Hague at the NADA art fair. I got so crunched trying to get around these doors. It seems like a few other people did as well--notice the scuff marks on the wall.
More Miami pictures and comments STILL TO COME throughout the week.
