wait, more Bushwick...Introceptual Ghostland

yep, you read that right: Introceptual Ghostland. You'd better sign up for this "Scrapworm Tour Adventure".  I'm not at liberty to share tooooo much about this tour,  but I will share everything I copied from HDB's email to me earlier:  Attendees will arrive at NurtureArt to begin  a "tour" of the historical Bushwick landscape, but soon, (allegorically unhinged from time) the foci of realities traversed will blur, fade...and surprise!

Rob Carter Award: crate to Basel

The ROB CARTER AWARD is awarded to Rob Carter (shocking) for his impeccable packing of our crate to Basel for the VOLTA fair.  A job well done.



UPDATE: Rob apparently wasn't done packing in the last photo, so he encouraged me to post the final version of the beautifully packed crate. Notice how perfectly the level even fits.

A cupcake truck (Cupcake Stop) is beginning it's preview route dangerously close to West Chelsea. 23rd b/w 7th +8th, to be exact. at 6pm TONIGHT. I'll see you all there.

Tuesday Reading Roundup

Prince William has an artful sense of humor.

Michelle Obama shows her support for the arts. And Christopher Knight, as noted by Tyler Green, thinks it's a  "slightly lame gesture."

Culture Grrl was so on top of it, she actually posted the text of Michelle Obama's ribbon-cutting speech!

I, myself, did not have time to do as much writing or reading these past few days...but I did have time to research "alternative fine art"--nail art. Enjoy. The Mona Lisa nail is my favorite.

Jobe installation complete

Brian Jobe's installation is now complete (actually, it was complete over a week ago, but I was out of town all last week). Just getting around to posting these pictures of the finalized installation now. Be sure to walk down 26th street to see Tuft v. Turf (Fire Escape).

5 x 20 x 20 is presented in celebration of a gift by The Judith Rothschild Foundation of approximately 2,500 works on paper by more than 650 artists that entered the Museum’s collection in 2005. The talks take the format of Pecha Kucha, an informal Japanese lecture style in which the artists discuss 20 slides of their work for 20 seconds each.
