I stopped by some galleries in Culver City this past weekend (which is why you didn't have a blog posting to read this Saturday). I hate to admit that the three things the LA galleries seemed to benefit from were the following:
1) Lots of Exhibition Space [as the example above shows---high ceilings at Kim Light (Lightbox) Gallery]
2) Storage Space. I almost wanted to scream out "NOT FAIR!!" when I saw all of these crates stacked up outside the galleries.
3) The Climate, in general. You could, for instance (and on a long lunch break), go here [above]. I certainly did.
