Zane Lewis. The Man. VMan.

If you pick up the latest issue of VMan Magazine, you'll be treating yourself to Christopher Bollen's riveting article on Zane Lewis's latest work. Lewis talks about his idols, inspirations, and methods. Even his relation to (distant cousin?) James Dean.  This is one fact I have yet to see proof of, and yet I believe it.

Dark Fair

On Saturday Heather and Courtney also ventured to the Dark Fair. All the cool kids were obviously doing it, which is precisely why I'm making it known that both Heather and Courtney were cool enough to be there. Paddy Johnson's review of the fair summed up our thoughts perfectly--we had similar reactions to the small number of "cheater" galleries, the abundance of penis-themed art, and the hipper than hip crowd. I hope that no one traveled out to Red Hook on Saturday night looking for fun, 'cause everyone in Brooklyn was actually drinking gin n' tonics by candlelight in SoHo.

Visit to Anthony Giordano Gallery @ Dowling

Kimberley Hart's lecture at the Anthony Giordano Gallery this past Sunday was packed! Heather and Courtney sped out to Oakdale, NY in their red-hot zip car "Sergio" (not pictured, sadly), and arrived just in time to hear Kimberley speak to students and faculty about her exhibition "Hot Shot" as well as her experience working with the students in the creation of the work "Drop-net". The students helped Kimberley create the pile of over 50 hand-sewn felt apples.
