Rob Carter, apparently. Consider the two photos below. Rob seems to be having much more fun in with this installation than Lee. Either that or Lee just hides his enthusiasm well.
And here's one last photo to get you excited about Thursday night's opening:
This array of pecky wood will eventually be assembled into a lifesize VW van. Promise. Don't believe me? Come check it out for yourself. Lee Stoetzel's "You Are In a Landscape" opens this Thursday, 6-8pm at Mixed Greens.
Here's a blog review of "HandMaking", a group show curated by Amy Lipton and Joele Cuyler, currently on view at the Abington Art Center in Jenkintown, PA. Mixed Green's own Kimberley Hart and Lee Stoetzel are in the show, and Lee participated in a recent panel discussion "Craft in Contemporary Art". The show will be on view through July 28th.

After a glass or two of wine, Steven contemplates the "Wood Book" in progress. That is one big wood book.
Smaller wood books, to be included in Lee's upcoming show "You Are In a Landscape", opening April 26th at Mixed Greens. Below is a photo of the pecky cypress wood VW Van (lifesize!) also in the upcoming show.
In case you missed Rudy Shepherd's sculpture at Socrates Sculpture Park, here's a great pic of Rudy (+ friends) with the finished product. This work was part of the 2006 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition. Visit Socrates Sculpture Park's website here. Read Jerry Saltz's review of the exhibition here.
